If you have never been to the Draper Wetlands, you need to go. It has two ponds, one for fishing and one for feeding ducks. They recently paved the trails so you can ride bikes around it. We love going there. And it is Preston's new favorite hang out now that he has found a hug love for fishing. We took Hannah's best friend Madi and Preston always has his best friend Devon with him. It is located on 700 E across the street from Draper Harmon's. It is in the Sunset Pond's neighborhood. (the neighborhood I want to move into one day)

The Necklace

So I had Preston up on campus with me last week. We were heading to the Student Union Building (SUB) when this lady from Peru was selling the most beautiful necklaces I had ever seen and she was selling them for really cheap. I bought a really pretty turquoise one but after we had lunch I had to go back and see if I could find one that would match my wedding dress. My dress in very cream and I wanted something that would stand out. If you know me well at all you would know I am very different when it comes to jewelry. I picked out another turquoise one that was also pure silver. I asked Preston what he thought about it. He replies "don't ask me I don't know about stuff like that." But then he goes around the table and picks up this cream sea shell and silver necklace and says "this is the one mom!" Knowing that he has seen my dress I picked it up and bought it. I brought it home and placed it in front of my dress and almost cried. I said "Preston this is the perfect necklace. Thank you for picking it out." He felt pretty good about himself. I am so glad he picked it out. Because we are eloping it kinda leaves the kids out of the whole thing. Now I will at least have a little piece of Preston.

Happy Birthday Baby
I met Dan while I was going though my divorce in 2005. He knew I had two kids and still wanted my phone number. He asked me out and by the second date I was in love. It happened so quick and I am so grateful for every day I have him in my life. He is a great dad and has patience beyond what any man I have ever seen have. Especially being thrown right into being a dad of two older kids. Dan is the most supportive man I have ever met. His support has allowed me to full fill my dreams of finishing college and becoming a yoga instructor. He not only has had patience with our kids but also me and over coming some bad habits I developed over the years. I am so excited to take his name in July. Happy 39th Birthday Babe!! We are getting up there but at least we are doing it together!!

Wicked!!

Thursday night my sister Amanda and I went and saw Wicked at Capitol Theater. She got really great seats from her radio station. It was so much fun!! If they ever come again I am getting tickets and taking Hannah because she would love it. I love plays and musicals and this was so amazing to see. The songs and the actors were so great I had chills!!

Easter 2009
Easter was full of fun and craziness. We kicked off the holiday with dyeing eggs Saturday night. I was in charge of dessert for the Sunday Easter party. So the girls and I were making mini eclairs out of cake mix, pudding, and chocolate. The girls mixed the cake batter and licked the beaters after wards. Well the raw egg in the mix made Hannah sick and if you look closely at the egg dyeing pictures of Hannah she is quite pale. But after getting rid of everything she ate that day she felt better and was able to enjoy Easter. Hannah got all Twilight stuff in her basket. Chloe only wanted a Thumbalina doll, and Preston got all H.I.M. stuff(his favorite band). Easter Sunday we headed to grandma's for dinner and a egg hunt. I am so glad the weather held up for this day!!

Visit with the Easter Bunny
Chloe is always so excited to see the Easter Bunny. She is deathly scared of Santa Clause but when it comes to the Easter Bunny he is her BFF. I couldn't get her off his lap. She keeps saying that the Easter Bunny is going to bring her Thumbalina. That is what he is bringing her and I have no idea how she knew that!!

Family update
I have been so busy with midterms, yoga training(and job offers), room mom duties, and classroom volunteering, I have had no time to blog since I came home from Idaho. My training was such a amazing experience I was so sad to leave. I made new friends and learned a lot about how I want to pursue my yoga teaching. The studio we trained in was owned by a lady a little older than me. She was such an inspiration to me with everything she has accomplished in her life with obstacles such as divorce, illness and other complications life throws at us that I could relate to. I feel so honored to have trained under her expertise and knowledge of yoga. When I came home I had to take two midterms and plan a teaching lesson for Preston 's 6Th grade class. Once again feeling overwhelmed by everyday life and loving every minute of it. I took both midterms and used my knowledge of teaching to get through the lessons. I am so glad I volunteered in Pretson's last year of elementary school. It has been more work than I expected but he will remember it. I came home Monday and sent out mass emails to everyone looking for some where to teach 8 free yoga lessons to. As a part of our certification we are suppose to expose the community to the wonders of yoga. I offered it to several places and waited to hear back from one of them. It only took maybe 6 hours before I was bombarded with offers and phone calls. Not only for the 8 free classes but permanent positions as well. I was already offered a position at the University Sandy campus before I even left for training. The place I am teaching the 8 free classes to offered me studio time in their gym to start a class after the training is over. I was so excited I have not been able to sleep much this week. I am teaching the 8 free classes to Hannah's gymnastics teachers and then the owner asked me if I would like to start a class for other clients as well. I will be teaching a kids class as well there and can't wait for that experience. I am trying really hard not to let this interfere with my schooling but this week it has a little. I was also offered several positions at a couple gyms but I think the U and the gymnastics will have to be enough. I have an interview to teach on campus in the fall and I will definitely take that one also.
Yoga has been an amazing part of my life and has helped me heal when I have needed it most. It is more than a exercise(and yes it is a great work out) my yoga mat is a place I can come to to get into my own body and mind so I can be a better person for those around me. If you haven't tried yoga yet I recommend you do. If you want to try my class I can keep yo updated on when and where I will be teaching for sure.
The kids are anxious for school to get out and we are all anxious for this snow to be gone. Dan and I are feeling more at ease now that our wedding plans are finalize. We have decided not to have a reception but can't wait to see family the September in Kentucky for Mike and Elizabeth's wedding. We feel as though our little get away in Estes Park, Co was what we were meant to do and can't wait to become one big family. Chloe will be three this year and we are hoping potty trained so she can start preschool and gymnastics with her sister. Her vocabulary in tremendous for her age and she is counting well above 10. Her time at the U day care has been good for her and she has learned so much.
Our other plans this year include another trip to Yellowstone in August and lots of weekend getaways with the boat.
With the semester and school for the kids winding down, I will have more time to blog(maybe)!
For now...~NAMASTE!!
